TNN | Feb 15, 2013.MARGAO: The Green Goa foundation ( GGF) has given South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha a 15-day deadline to see that the passport officer is transferred and have demanded for a 'people-friendly' passport officer in Goa. Referring to the recent confrontation at the passport office on account of the frustration of the people and alleged harassment by the passport office, GGF blamed the local government, Sardinha and North Goa MP ShripadNaik for failing to address the issue and said it was their duty to take up the issue with the central government. The GGF said, if its demand was not met, it would start a campaign to get the passport officer replaced and undertake an indefinite agitation for the purpose. "The passport office, instead of easing the passport formalities, has become obstructionist and people are put to great hardships to obtain the passport," said GGF Chairman Raison Almeida.
